What did I do this weekend

We had amazing weather this weekend and what better thing to do than to enjoy the nature and parks Toronto has to offer.  I went on a 5K run through one such park in Toronto that I frequent when I go sailing or take my dog, Babba, to swim in the beach.

Babba on a boatThe Park is called Humber Bay Park and is divided into Humber Bay East and Humber Way West which are connected by a pedestrian bridge.  The park is located at the base of Park Lawn Road on the boarder of Toronto and Mimico.  It's an amazing park with great views of downtown Toronto, the waterfront trail and a butterfly conservatory (outdoor).  My run was to be a breezy one as I just wanted to collect my thoughts, enjoy the weather and check out nooks in Toronto that I wouldn’t otherwise.  I mapped out my run in my running app, Endomando, for anyone interested in taking on such a similar run.

Endomando Run 5K through Humber Bay ParkParking is available at Humber Bay Park West where paid parking is $0.75 per half hour.  My run only lasted about 45 minutes so I ended up spending $1.50 for parking.  There are free parking options available outside the park or on Marine Parade Road which is closer to Humber Bay Park East.  A pedistrian bridge connects the two parks together and much like Paris, you can find love locks on this bridge as well.  There is another bridge further east from Humber Bay Park where the locks are much more prominent in case any of my listeners are interested in putting a lock on it :)

There are numerous other activities available throughout the park so take your time to explore and find a spot perfect for you.  The view of the Toronto Skyline is breathtaking from there and you will find lots of Torontonians spending time in the sun, barbequing or enjoying family time.

What are some of the place you like to visit in Toronto?  Do leave a comment here so I can be sure to add them to my list of things to do!
